Building Permit
Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit.
Building Permit Process and Cost
To request an inspection, call (334) 241-2072, 241-2073 or 241-2074 with the permit number and address. An inspection requested before 8:30 a.m. will be made between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. An inspection requested after 8:30 a.m. and before 1:00 p.m. will be made between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
No work shall be done to any part of a building beyond the point required for each inspection. A written notice of inspection must be obtained by the owner or his agent prior to proceeding with any work.

COST OF PERMIT
Permit fees are $0.005 of the estimated cost of construction, labor, materials and sub contractors. The fee is rounded off to the nearest dollar so that the permit fee comes out to be an even dollar amount. Permit fees are payable by cash or check.
