On nights, weekends or holidays, reports of traffic control emergencies should be called into 241-2651 or 241-2656. At these numbers, the City Communications Department can take your message and refer it to the traffic engineering response unit. Such emergency conditions include traffic signals that are dark or malfunctioning, bulbs of a traffic signal indication that are not working, and Stop or Yield signs that are missing.
The Electrical Division is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all traffic signals, Interstate and U.S. Roadway street lighting. Also assist in the installation of traffic surveillance and detection cameras. Install fiber optic cable for traffic communication systems. Install all Downtown Christmas decorations and assist in all City "Special Functions" such as Jubilee, the Christmas Parade, Fourth of July Flags along the Boulevards.
