Install a new street light

•   Traffic Engineering will make an on-site visit to locate the pole selected by the citizen for a new street light.  If the nearest street light is greater than 300 feet away, a new street light will be considered. If approved, Traffic Engineering will then make a request to the power provider to  install the new street light. The power providers in Montgomery are Alabama Power Company and Dixie Electric. It is helpful if the requestor can identify the power provider in the area of the request. It is also helpful for the caller to provide the street address or utility pole number. Street lights are installed for pedestrian and vehicular safety. The City does not provide security lighting on private property.
