What should I do if there is a basketball goal on city right of way?

Call 311 at 334-625-4636, 311, or by email to 311@montgomeryal.gov.

·         Refer to Section 26-10 of the Montgomery City Code.

·         When a complaint is made that a basketball goal is in the street or on city right-of-way, Traffic Engineering will send someone out to verify it.  Then a letter is delivered to the resident giving them 2 weeks to remove it from city right-of-way. If the basketball goal is not removed within 2 weeks from the date of the notice, a request is sent to Street Maintenance to pick it up.  The owner can reclaim the basketball goal by paying fines and any expenses incurred in the removal of the goal.  For complaints after hours or on weekends, please call the non-emergency police # at 334-241-2651.
